nik wakelin
Nik is a prize winning contributor to Ruby On Rails, and as a passionate and driven individual, believes strongly you get out what you put in. At just 21, Nik has a solid career in web development, and has already established himself as fast moving forward thinking developer.
Nik joined the Ruby on Rails movement mid 2005 after building a sound base of experience in delivering projects through his own consulting business, Munkywrench. In late 2006, he joined peer-to-peer hiring business HireThings, as part of the first Summer Of Code.
Nik spent 2007 with PlanHQ, and was quickly recognized as a key contributor to their team. He was promoted to Development Manager and spent the summer mentoring two new students as part of the second Summer of Code.
Nik is still a frequent contributor to Ruby On Rails, and has also made small contributions to ActiveMerchant and script.aculo.us. He’s up with all the acronyms: XHTML, CSS, Ruby, PHP, AJAX, Prototype-based JavaScript, jQuery, RSpec, MySQL, et al.
oliver clarke

Oliver Clarke is an all round computing guru and is an authority on a wide range of technologies. He is passionate about building and maintaining systems to solve peoples problems.
Oliver is currently specializing in web development using Ruby on Rails with all the related technologies and feels that you must adapt to use the most current technology to keep ahead of the game.
Oliver has a keen interest in Unix based systems and has a huge experience in Linux environments, mainly Debian and Gentoo. He is currently an Apple nut with all the latest gadgets.
As one of the first members to join PlanHQ in late 2006, Oliver was quick to pick up Ruby on Rails after having a significant background in PHP web development and open source systems, gained from his experience via his contracting company ParagonTech.
He was responsible for building infrastructure and systems that allowed PlanHQ to generate Microsoft Word documents from arbitrary data. It involved Amazon Web Services, XSLT Conversion, some Python scripting, and Open Office automation.
Oliver is our resident Linux guru, and can help out with most sticky deployment issues. He’s also an experienced web developer, and is fluent in XHTML, CSS, Prototype JavaScript (with or without AJAX) as well as being a kick-ass Ruby programmer.
